Some of my old friends only may be knowing what my life was like a couple of years ago. Today with god’s grace- who gave me power to work hard - I am in a satisfied position even if I am not a rich or famous icon .I am fortunate that I have had a outstanding father, family and friends who supported me to reach this way. I have been seeing many people who are eager to come up in their life but circumstances are not allowing them to. I have been longing so deeply to support the people who are striving hard to get their basic needs to survive, kids who aspire to become educated and improve their livelihoods and the elderly who have been betrayed by their families but still are willing to smile in the late years of their life.

My inspiration to start this foundation was my Father, after whom this foundation has been named.He was a kind hearted person who lived mostly for others. He had a wonderful talent to keep everything in balance. Though for many times he had to fight with life and faith to look after his family and he was finally successful in giving them a decent valuable life style. He had a unique style of doing things in his own way, and always tried to be a perfectionist. No words can elucidate the feelings I have for him and I thank god for giving me such a wonderful person as a father.

This foundation is an effort to take forward my father’s passion of helping and supporting those who need a shoulder to lean on when they stumble a bit. It’s a sincere step taken not just in one direction, but in a multifaceted way. It aims to fulfill not just one mission but many more than that.

We aim at supporting as many families as possible in the maximum ways we can. However for this we require your trust and support in making our vision come alive by giving everyone an equal opportunity.

MFR Foundation has been initiated by Mr Shahir Ali F R, the second son of Late Mr M Fazalul Rahman, a computer engineer by profession and currently working for the Qatar government.

1. To support fathers, widows or parents who have unfortunately failed to look after their family due life’s hardships or struggles with their faith. It could be loan or financial support for a peasant whose crops have been ruined by natural disaster, an ill parent or basically anyone who is in need of support.
2. To empower all students to be lifelong learners inspired to pursue their dreams and to contribute to their family and society. We will support children of any age range who may be excelling or struggling with their studies but dream about continuing their educational journey to acquire knowledge in order to improve the quality of their lives, but financially are unable to or family circumstances does not allow them to continue their educational journey.
3. To financially support or find a living space for the elderly who have no family or have been abandoned by their family.

We accept applications for a grant or a loan from those in need of support. The head of the household can apply directly to our foundation or through a third person if necessary. The applications received by the foundation are thoroughly scrutinized to confirm their genuineness and not fraudulent. An extensive background check of the applicant will help us to better understand the specific needs of this applicant and how to effectively guide the applicant.

MFR Foundation assists the applicants in the following ways:

1. Giving a grant or loan to the head of the family.
2. Giving scholarships for children who want to pursue their studies but are financially unable to.
3. Supporting the homeless elderly by locating living space for them.
4. Helping people find employment.
5. Organizing self employment programs for women.
6. Collaborating with other trusts and foundations in organizing fund raisers.
